Farmer Veteran Coalition Fellowship Award 2024

In June we were notified that we were the recipients of a grant through the Farmer Veteran Coalition. We applied for this fellowship award to advance our farm goals. It was incredible to have this honor. It means that other people believe in what we are doing and are willing to invest in our farm business. We realize that specializing in tea and bees is not your traditional farming enterprise (especially in Edgecombe County, NC), and to have the support of a national organization, it was thrilling. We used the resources to buy shelving that enables us to maximize space in our shade houses where our camellia sinensis plants are housed until they are mature enough to plant in the garden. It is incredible how this moment has energized us and has launched us forward in our goals. We are more determined than ever to make this dream a reality and we are stepping forth in faith that more support will come and we will be able to finance further infrastructure that we need to create this farm.
